9 out of 10 companies leave travellers without foreign exchange
Just nine per cent of companies organise foreign exchange for employees travelling abroad on company business; the other 91 per cent risk losing control and efficiency benefits and being hit with higher exchange rates.
To help organisations avoid these risks, Travelex offers a range of business travel money solutions for managed and competitive foreign currency, including the Corporate Cash Passport: a convenient prepaid card designed for overseas travel expenses, per diem allowances and incentive payments.
The passport is a PIN and signature protected Visa Electron card, which can be used to withdraw local currency from over one million ATMs or spend funds in over 18 million retailers. Available in GBP, EUR or US$, the passport promises to improve travelling staff satisfaction and provides corporates with tighter cash management, audit and financial control.
What's more, if a Corporate Cash Passport is lost or stolen, the funds are protected and replaced through Travelex's global network while remote loading can make additional funds immediately available if circumstances change, so travellers will never be short of cash.

Boeing's 787: A dream come true for Business Travel Show Visitors
Visitors to this year's Business Travel Show will have a unique opportunity to see first hand the innovative design features incorporated into Boeing's all new 787 Dreamliner.
Boeing believes that the Dreamliner's innovative features will return the magic of flight to the business traveller. When designing the 787, the company developed a unique understanding of the effects of lighting, sound, altitude, humidity and air contaminants on passengers. The result is described as the best possible air travel experience starting with a smoother ride for passengers as a system of sensors linked to control surfaces dampens out turbulence and offers significantly less disturbance and nausea for travellers subject to motion sickness.
A green dream
Boeing and its engine partners Rolls-Royce and GE are making the Dreamliner quieter for communities and there will be a distinct noise reduction on board, which will contribute directly to a reduced sense of fatigue. The company is also using composite material as the primary aircraft structure, enabling a weight saving that translates into 20 per cent less carbon dioxide emissions.
Better business
The strength of the composite structures used in the Dreamliner also means that the cabin altitude (typically 8,000 feet during the cruise) can be reduced to 6,000 feet. By increasing the humidity and adding new air filtration technologies, studies show the number of passengers experiencing symptoms associated with dryness can be reduced by 50 per cent and, when combined with the reduction in cabin altitude, business travellers can expect to arrive in better shape to do business.
Visitors to the Business Travel Show will be able to see the new 60 per cent larger windows designed to meet passengers' preferences to feel ‘connected' to the experience of flight. And, last but not least, the 787 will succeed in reducing transatlantic route times by half an hour, getting business travellers to meetings quicker.
Register for a pass to the Business Travel Show at on this site and decide for yourself whether the Boeing 787 Dreamliner really will succeed in returning the magic of flight to business travel.
Destination Education
The Business Travel Show conference theatres are always a popular destination with visitors to the event and this year there are even more reasons to head in their direction with the launch of a high-level, three-tier conference programme.
The programme will feature daily keynotes from industry luminaries, a series of animated debates and interview sessions and 24 case studies focusing on the top eight topics of the day.
Designed to educate, inform, inspire and encourage interaction, the programme focuses on topics and trends including Open Skies, corporate social responsibility, the green agenda, corporate manslaughter litigation, risk mitigation and duty of care with participating companies including Airbus UK, BCD Travel, Cancer Research UK, Continental Airlines, Defra, Ernest & Julio Gallo, Expedia Corporate Travel, Green Industry Council, HRS, ITM, Radius Corporate Travel, Unisys, Virgin Atlantic, Vodafone, Aviva, Inmarsat, Nokia, Save the children, the co-operative, BBC, Unisys and the University of Buckingham Business School.
"The self-booking tool conference session is for anyone that is involved with the organisation and coordination of corporate travel, beneficial for travel directors, arrangers and bookers. During this seminar you will learn how to implement a self booking tool, its benefits, as well as real life case study examples from Bradley Jones, the corporate services procurement manager at Cancer Research," said Christophe Peymirat, managing director, Expedia Corporate Travel
Geoff Allwright is travel & expense manager at Airbus UK, which has implemented an online solution allowing the company to show all managers the true facts of travel costs. He intends to ask Business Travel Show delegates: "Have you ever considered the real cost of a business trip?" and wants them to leave his session knowing that, "expense claims CAN be linked to the travel that was booked and reported to management."
Andy Blackwell is head of aviation security at Virgin Atlantic. His conference session is titled: Improving the Experience of the Frequent Traveller and he commented: "Delegates should attend this session in order to gain an overview of what key stakeholders are doing to achieve an appropriate balance between security and passenger facilitation. Balancing robust security with a pleasurable passenger experience is a challenge that will continue to be a big issue for 2008."
