Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world and is one of a few select carriers in the world ranked Five Star by the international monitor Skytrax. The airline is now ranked sixth “Best In The World” and has also won the “Best Airline In The Middle East” award in 2006. The airline operates 35 flights out of the UK to Doha -triple daily flights from London Heathrow, daily flights from Manchester and London Gatwick. Operating 47 all Airbus fleet, Qatar Airways' customers benefit from a superior level of in-flight comfort coupled with the airline's superlative levels of customer service. The airline recently announced plans to acquire up to 80 aircraft comprising 60 of the new generation A350s and 20 Boeing 777s worth a total US$15.2 billion. The airline is a launch customer of the twin-deck Airbus A380 ‘super jumbos’ with four aircraft on order and scheduled for delivery from 2009 to coincide with the opening of the New Doha International Airport. The new A330-300 aircraft offers an impeccable standard of amenities, including cutting-edge entertainment systems, seat- back TV screens in every class, laptop powerpoints and ergonomically designed seats for optimum comfort. The A330-300 also features Qatar Airways’ new Waves in-flight entertainment system offering Audio Video On Demand that gives passengers more personal control of programmes.

Fine dining tableware has been introduced in First and Business Class on all Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester to Doha routes and will be gradually introduced on all Qatar Airways’ international routes during 2006. Trolley service in First and Business Class has been replaced by a la carte plates, individually prepared and served by cabin crew to each passenger. Glass plates, individual glass bread bowls and chinaware designed by German company Bauscher and French-designed cutlery by Guy Degrenne all feature in the new service. Passengers are presented with dining menus specially prepared in leather-bound folders and a selection of champagne and wines from around the world feature in both cabins. First Class passengers are served with individual tea sets and have the additional touch of a personal caviar service, luxury full-size bed pillows, soft white linen mattresses and Australian wool blankets.
