Omega World Travel is celebrating its 40th birthday at this year’s Business Travel Show with a host of new initiatives lead by a new management team - and backed by an increase in business last year. The new team is now headed-up by Commercial Director EMEA Tony Hughes, well known in UK travel circles as a past managing director of P&O Travel, who has joined Omega World Travel in London from Qatar Airways in the USA. He said: “They say life begins at 40 and it certainly will be doing so for Omega World Travel in the UK. We have been in this country for over half the life of the company and will now be expanding our operations here based on the excellent reputation everyone has already worked hard to achieve”. One of the first of Omega’s new developments to be introduced in 2012 will be a self booking tool for clients, introduced through a new collaboration with KDS, the international expert in travel and expense management systems – who are also exhibiting at The Business Travel Show. Added Tony Hughes; “The new tie-up with KDS will enable us to offer clients a complete on-line system including pre-trip approval, integrated rail bookings and expense management”. Omega is also expanding its sales team under Director of Sales and Marketing EMEA Francesco DeLuca, following a successful year in 2011. Said Francesco: “To have been able to increase our business in the current climate is no small achievement and we now look forward to building on this with our new team in 2012”.
