EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION: Business Travel Show launches new three-tier conference
programme
Date: November 27 2007
The Business Travel Show is launching a high-level, three-tier conference programme
for visitors to its London event, which takes place at Earls Court 2 from February
5-7, 2008.
Running over all three days of the event, the programme will feature daily keynotes
from industry luminaries, a series of animated debates and interview sessions and
24 case studies focusing on the eight most crucial business travel topics of the
day. These topics will include Open Skies, corporate social responsibility, the
green agenda, corporate manslaughter litigation, risk mitigation and duty of care.
The keynotes and debates will be free to attend at this year’s show, allowing anyone
who visits the show a chance to listen, experience and learn from the show’s experts.
Companies participating in the conference programme, including the case studies,
include Advito, Airbus UK, BCD Travel, British Airways, BT, Cancer Research UK,
Continental Airlines, DEFRA, Ernest & Julio Gallo, Expedia Corporate Travel, Green
Industry Council, HRS, ITM, Lexis Nexis, Nokia, Oracle, Radius Corporate Travel,
Save the Children, Unisys, Virgin Atlantic, Vodafone and Yahoo.
Serge Bacchus, European travel manager at Unisys, is presenting with Christopher
A Juneau from Concur on best practice to drive the adoption of self-booking tools;
his tip for delegates? Go straight to the top: “Having the highest management company
support is a guarantee of a strong implementation and fast adoption success!”
Bacchus also believes that the topic of self-booking tools will be high on the agenda
for 2008, adding: “Self booking tools may be able to reach and retrieve the best
available fares – including promotions - for corporate travellers, whether it is
from the GDS's or from the airlines’ own websites.”
“The Business Travel Show conference theatres are always a popular destination with
visitors and, this year, we have planned a programme that promises to educate, inform,
inspire and encourage interaction,” said event director David Chapple. “In a first
for 2008, we are also offering training and skills workshops specifically for PAs
and travel bookers in association with our online media partner ABTN.”
