More than 7,000 descend on a Busy 14th Business Travel Show London
February 25 2008
More than 7,000* of the UK's business travel elite flocked to the 14th Business Travel Show in London earlier this month; the second consecutive year that organiser Centaur Exhibitions has secured a 7,000 plus visitor attendance.
Over 220 exhibitors, including 70 first-timers, were also at Earls Court 2 representing every corner of the business travel industry and showcasing some of the most advanced products and services on, and about to hit, the market place. More than 80 per cent of these exhibitors have already re-booked stands for 2009, including HRG, Sabre, Emirates and Premier Inn.
During the three-day event, exhibitors launched hundreds of new products and services to visitors, including new exhibitor Boeing who brought an exclusive life-size pod of its new Dreamliner aircraft to the show, impressively dominating the visitor entrance. KDS joined forces with ACTE to reveal the results of their third annual business travel survey and AirPlus launched its third international travel management study.
The Business Travel Show also premiered three new showcase areas highlighting products and services specific to CSR, Business Meetings and Technology and more than 30 hours of educational sessions, including three complimentary keynotes under the heading The Future of Business Travel', which took place on the brand new and very well-received centre stage.
The Business Travel Show Innovation Awards were also presented on the centre stage. Exhibitor Sabre Travel Network was the worthy winner of the inaugural Gold Innovation Award, presented to the company for its Virtually There product at the exhibitor party at London's famous Madame Tussauds.
"We are thrilled to be recognised for the innovation we have worked so hard to deliver to our agencies and travellers," said Sabre chief marketing officer Greg Webb. "This award recognises our desire and commitment to investing in innovative solutions that help our customers to provide services that really matter to their own customers."
Business Travel Show event director David Chapple finished: "The 14th Business Travel Show was a great event with quality exhibitors, products, visitors and features. In fact, there is no better confirmation of a successful and productive three days than the willingness of exhibitors to sign up a full 12 months in advance for Business Travel Show 2009."
