Priority Pass Corporate Sales Look Set to Double
December 14 2007
Priority Pass, the world's largest independent airport lounge access programme, has seen its corporate sales treble since 2005, and is expecting corporate sales figures this year to double compared to 2006. The programme has huge appeal for companies, who want to offer their employees comfortable and pleasant journeys when they are travelling for business, as the conditions at airports worsen.
The Priority Pass membership card offers lounge access in over 275 cities worldwide, and can be used regardless of the class of travel or the airline a person is flying with. This means that anyone can enjoy the benefits of gaining access to over 500 airport lounges with no advance booking or payment necessary. There are three levels of membership, so businesses can choose the programme that's most suitable for them, dependent on how frequently their employees fly.
The recent success of Priority Pass is not only due to its uniqueness, but partly to the fact that air travel has increasingly become more onerous and unpleasant, as passengers are being affected by delays, congestion and underinvestment in airport infrastructure. Those travelling on business are forced to deal with these conditions regularly, which can have a negative effect on their wellbeing as well as their ability to do their jobs. Major airports in international business hubs, such as New York and London are operating above capacity. Recently UK airport authorities have been criticized for poor management, and the U.S.A. has experienced the worst airport delays on record. For people who travel frequently, these inefficiencies can create a lot of unnecessary stress as well as creating the loss of productive working time.
Priority Pass offers a great solution to the current airport hassles, because it offers individuals the chance to relax and unwind at the airport and access the benefits of the business class lounges. Employees can visit the airport VIP lounges, without having to pay high business class fares or be constrained by travel policies that limit them to using one airline.
Sonja Pedersen, of Alfa Laval Kolding, Denmark says, "For those of our managers who travel frequently, Priority Pass is a simple necessity - they need to use their time effectively - to catch up on work or simply relax."
"For an affordable price, Priority Pass provides a sanctuary away from the chaos of the busy departure area where members can relax or work in a peaceful environment," explains Jonathan French, spokesperson for Priority Pass, "Businesses are now starting to realise, with global travel on the increase, how important it is that their staff are well looked after when travelling so that they can be productive without necessarily having to pay through the nose for premium class travel."
