Tom Moran buys Bewleys Hotels

Moran Hotels, which is independently owned and operated by Tom Moran and the Moran Family, has announced that they have purchased Bewleys Hotels - a coup for the Moran brand which sees the number of its bed spaces now increase to in excess of 2500."This is an exceptional opportunity for us to expand our group and further establish our brand across Ireland and the UK with a ready-made portfolio of successful and strategically located hotels," said Tom Moran; Managing Director.

Bewleys Hotels consists of six properties between Ireland and the UK. In Dublin they have the Dublin Airport Hotel, Newlands Cross, Ballsbridge&Leopardstown Hotels and in the UK the Leeds and Manchester Airport Hotels. An extensive laundry operation which comes under the heading �Matrix Ireland Ltd', located in Wexford is also included in the deal. It is the intention of the new owners to operate the new group as a going concern alongside their existing hotels.

Moran Hotels currently comprises of four four-star deluxe hotels the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin - Silver Springs Moran Hotel, Cork - the Crown Moran and Chiswick Moran Hotels, London and the infamous Red Cow Inn; Dublin's landmark pub;. According to Tom; "Our success to date has come from developing quality properties in top locations and offering excellent service at competitive rates and I believe that the Bewleys Hotels will complement our group perfectly!"

Tom and the board of directors for Moran Hotels are delighted with their purchase and looking forward to working with their new employees, according to Tom; "My fellow directors and I have met with many of the personnel in each of the Bewleys Hotels already and we found the response to be extremely positive. These are exciting times ahead for all of us so we are delighted to have the support of both the Moran and Bewleys staff&management as the group continues to grow. We are also looking forward to caring for Bewleys valued customers and to building a rapport with their existing suppliers"

The group were recently granted planning permission for a 17 storey hotel with 475 additional bedrooms and a conference centre on the site at the Red Cow Complex in Dublin. As far as the Moran Group is concerned; "this project is still very much on course as is the construction of additional bedrooms on our site adjoining the Chiswick Moran Hotel and the plans to build a new 175 bedroom and conference hotel in Kingston, also in London", said Pat Power; Financial Director
